Tailoring, paint on fabric ; this work is about disturbances and slips of identity . It expresses the unconscious relationship we have with clothing, whether it is through the hazard of circumstance or the spontaneity of “whimsey.”
An unfinished pattern piece of work was the inspiration for the start of a narrative patterned by circumstance. Was it mistreated or was it the wearer who was?
The sculptural, unfinished garments seen inside out make a reference to the inner mind. These pieces are to do with the uncomfortable personal reorganisation of emotional feelings, such as those reflected in loss and change and visual identity.
